Out of those punished, 3,174 people were found driving under the influence of alcohol. More than Rs. 1.8 million in fines were collected from them.

As part of road safety awareness efforts, traffic police provided traffic rule classes to 8,461 school students and alcohol-related awareness training to 1,250 people across the district.

Inspector Paudel also shared that the district has introduced a new system called the Traffic Violation Record System (TVRS) and an online fine payment system to make traffic management more technology-friendly.

During the last fiscal year, the office also used 70 reflector belts, 30 traffic signboards, 4 magic lights, 3 breathalyzers, 7 computers, 1 GoPro camera, and 1 laptop for traffic regulation purposes.

The traffic improvement campaign included support from local governments, schools, hospitals, media, and community centers. The awareness programs targeted students from grades 6 to 10, auto and city vehicle drivers, and other community members, promoting a collective effort for road safety.
