A 21-year-old man has been killed in Ilam. The victim, Prakash Chapagain from Maijogmai Rural Municipality-2, was killed in Suryodaya Municipality Ward No. 1.
According to Ilam District Police Office, Prakash had gone to his sister-in-law’s house with his elder brother, Niraj Chapagain. There, he got into a fight with 33-year-old Kiran Sherpa from Shirishe, Suryodaya-1.
The fight happened at the house of a local resident, Kaji Tamang. During the altercation, Sherpa allegedly attacked Prakash with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.
Prakash’s brother Niraj also suffered deep injuries to his stomach and was taken to Fikkal for treatment.
Police have arrested Sherpa after the incident and said further investigation is underway.
