8-year-old girl dies after scorpion sting in Makwanpur
An 8-year-old girl from Bakaiya Rural Municipality in eastern Makwanpur died after being stung by a scorpion.
Asmita Waiba, daughter of Bir Bahadur Waiba from Bakaiya-7, Mainatar, died during treatment at the hospital on Thursday night, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyamu Aryal.
She was stung by a scorpion on the left side of her waist on Wednesday morning (Jestha 14) while getting dressed after taking a bath at home. She started having breathing problems later that day.
Asmita was taken to Hetauda Hospital on Thursday morning for treatment. However, the hospital declared her dead the same night, said DSP Aryal.
