Kylian Mbappe Congratulates PSG After Champions League Win

Kylian Mbappe now plays for Spanish club Real Madrid, but he hasn’t forgotten his old team, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

When PSG won the UEFA Champions League for the first time by beating Inter Milan 5–0, Mbappé was one of the first former players to congratulate them.

He shared an emotional message on Instagram after PSG lifted the trophy in Munich. Posting a photo of the Champions League trophy, he wrote: “The big day finally arrived. And the win came in full PSG style! Congratulations PSG.”

Mbappé left PSG just one season ago. He joined the club from Monaco in 2017 and became its all-time top scorer with 256 goals and 108 assists in 308 matches, breaking the previous record held by Edinson Cavani.

During his time at PSG, he won six Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups, two League Cups, and three Super Cups. However, the one title he always dreamed of — the Champions League — remained out of reach. In 2020, he and PSG came close but lost in the final to Bayern Munich.

Since then, PSG tried many times to win the title again but couldn’t get past the semi-finals. This season, Mbappé moved to Real Madrid — the most successful club in Champions League history — to chase his dream.

However, things didn’t go as planned. Real Madrid was knocked out in the quarter-finals and ended the season without winning any major trophy.

While Mbappé couldn’t win the Champions League himself this season, PSG finally did — after 54 years as a club. At this special moment, Mbappé’s message showed that he still feels a strong emotional connection with PSG.

His message makes it clear: even though his jersey has changed, his bond with PSG remains.
