The Meteorological Forecasting Division reports mixed weather across Nepal today.

Morning Forecast: This morning, expect partly to generally cloudy skies in Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Lumbini Province, as well as other hilly areas. The rest of the country will be mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There’s a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, including hilly regions, and in one or two spots elsewhere.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is possible in isolated areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province. Some high-hill and Himalayan regions in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with a few other high-hill and Himalayan areas, might experience light rain or snowfall.

Afternoon/Daytime Forecast: This afternoon, similar conditions will continue across the country with partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in several places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in other parts of the country.

Again, isolated areas in Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province could see heavy rainfall. High-hill and Himalayan regions in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few other high-hill and Himalayan areas, might have light rain or snowfall.

Current Weather Systems: Currently, monsoon winds are affecting parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and the eastern areas of Lumbini provinces. The western part of the country is under the influence of westerly winds and local weather patterns.
