A man has died after a scooter was hit by a vehicle in Banepa Municipality-7 of Kavre.
According to the Area Police Office Banepa, the victim has been identified as 45-year-old Gyan Dhwaj Tamang, originally from Temal Rural Municipality-1, Kavre, who was currently living in a rented room in Banepa-7.
Police said a vehicle (Na 4 Cha 5945) coming from Panauti towards Banepa hit a scooter (Ba. Pra. 02–023 Pa 6023) heading towards Panauti. The scooter rider was seriously injured and died during treatment at Scheer Memorial Hospital.
Both the vehicle and the scooter are in police custody. However, the driver of the vehicle, identified as around 35-year-old Ajay Yadav from Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Dhanusha, has fled the scene. Police say search operations are underway to find him.
