Dortmund beat Sundowns 4–3, Fluminense make comeback win in Group F

In a thrilling Group F match of the FIFA Club World Cup, German club Borussia Dortmund defeated South African side Mamelodi Sundowns 4–3.

Sundowns took the lead early in the 11th minute through Lucas Ribeiro Costa. But Dortmund bounced back with three goals. Felix Nmecha equalized in the 16th minute, followed by Serhou Guirassy scoring in the 34th to make it 2–1. Youngster Jobe Bellingham scored on his debut in the 45th minute to give Dortmund a 3–1 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau scored an own goal in the 59th minute, making it 4–1 for Dortmund. However, Sundowns didn’t give up. Iqraam Rayners scored in the 62nd minute, and Lebo Mothiba added another in the 90th, narrowing the gap to 4–3. Dortmund held on to win.

In the other Group F match, Brazilian club Fluminense made a comeback to beat Ulsan 4–2.

Fluminense had taken the lead in the 27th minute with a free-kick goal from Jhon Arias. But Ulsan responded with two goals—Lee Jin-hyun in the 37th minute and Um Won-sang in first-half injury time—leading 2–1 at halftime.

In the second half, Fluminense came back strongly. Nino scored in the 66th minute to equalize, Juan Pablo Freitas scored in the 83rd to make it 3–2, and Keno’s header in the 90+2 minute sealed the 4–2 victory.

After these matches, both Fluminense and Dortmund have 4 points from two games. Fluminense top the group on goal difference, with Dortmund in second. Sundowns are third with 3 points. Ulsan are out of the tournament with 0 points.
