English club Chelsea have qualified for the Round of 16 in the FIFA Club World Cup. In their final Group D match on Wednesday morning, Chelsea defeated Tunisia’s Esperance 3-0 and finished second in the group.
Tosin Adarabioyo scored just before halftime during injury time, followed by another goal from Liam Delap moments later. Chelsea led 2-0 at the break.
In the second half, Tyrique George scored in the 7th minute of added time to make it 3-0 and secure the win.
In the other Group D match, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Los Angeles FC. Flamengo had already beaten Chelsea earlier and finished top of the group with 7 points, securing their spot in the Round of 16.
Chelsea ended the group stage with 6 points from 3 matches. Esperance and LAFC were eliminated with 3 and 1 point respectively.
In the upcoming Round of 16, Chelsea will face Benfica, while Flamengo will take on Bayern Munich.
