Nepal’s U-16 cricket team has set a massive total against Indonesia in their third match of the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup, thanks to a brilliant century by opening batter Prashiddha Jaisi.

Playing at Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Nepal lost the toss and were sent to bat first. They made a huge score of 420 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs, giving Indonesia a target of 421 runs.

This is the highest total ever scored by a Nepal team — both at the youth and senior level — in a 50-over match. It’s also the highest score so far in the ongoing tournament.

Jaisi led the way with a fantastic 132 runs from 114 balls, hitting 15 fours and 1 six. Raunak Srivastava supported him with a quick 88 off 71 balls, smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Parimarjan Yadav played an explosive knock of 71 runs from just 28 balls, including 4 fours and 8 sixes, while Joy Thapa added a solid 57 runs from 41 balls.

Jaisi and Yadav built a 130-run partnership for the first wicket. After the second wicket fell at 151, Jaisi and Raunak put together another strong partnership of 148 runs for the third wicket.

For Indonesia, Ketut Dharma Putra took 2 wickets, while Kavineeraj, Mahendra Aji, and Rehan Riza picked up one each.

So far, Nepal has won both of their earlier matches — beating Singapore by 5 wickets and defeating Japan by 9 wickets.

In Group A, Singapore — who have played 4 matches — lead the table with 6 points from 3 wins. Nepal is in second place with 4 points from 2 matches.

The ACC U-16 East Zone Cup features 10 teams. Nepal is in Group A alongside Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and Bhutan. Nepal’s next match is against Bhutan.
