Today’s weather in Nepal: July 29, 2025

Monsoon winds are currently affecting most parts of Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The monsoon low-pressure line is near its average position in the west and slightly north of the average in the east.

Today, skies will remain mostly cloudy across the country. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini provinces, and a few parts of the Terai.

Some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki may also receive heavy rainfall.

Tonight, it will stay mostly cloudy in the hilly areas including Lumbini, while the rest of the Terai may have partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rain with thunder is expected in a few places in the hills and isolated parts of the Terai. However, there is little to no chance of rain in the drought-affected Madhesh Province today as well.
