The Eden emulator, a promising Nintendo Switch emulator based on a Yuzu fork, has released its v0.0.3 release candidate — and it’s packed with improvements. Aimed at making the emulator more accessible and stable, this version introduces performance upgrades, a better user interface, and key features that simplify setup, especially for Android users.
Eden v0.0.3 includes targeted fixes for popular games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Echoes of Wisdom. These changes improve in-game performance and stability across devices.
Android users, in particular, benefit from a major overhaul of the multiplayer interface, a new carousel-style game library, and cleaner settings and performance overlays.
For those on low-end devices, a new 0.25× resolution option allows smoother gameplay, while compatibility with older hardware has also been enhanced.
One of the most significant additions in this update is the built-in driver fetcher. This tool automatically detects the user’s hardware, recommends the most compatible GPU driver, and downloads it from a trusted repository. It removes one of the biggest hurdles in Switch emulation — ensuring the right driver is installed — especially on Android devices.
Despite the progress, some known issues remain. AMD GPUs may display green screens during cutscenes, and devices with Mali GPUs continue to struggle with performance. The team also noted that Tears of the Kingdom now requires at least 6 GB of memory to run well on Android.
Data migration from Citron builds is still marked as unstable.
Looking ahead, Eden is set to integrate with EmuReady, a community-powered database of optimized game settings. This will let users launch games directly with best-fit configurations for their device. The project also recently added new contributors and began testing on AYANEO devices, which could lead to stronger support for Qualcomm’s new gaming handheld chips.
Eden v0.0.3 is one of the emulator’s biggest leaps forward since its launch. With better performance, game-specific fixes, and tools that make setup easier for beginners, Eden is positioning itself as the new go-to emulator for Switch fans following the takedown of Yuzu.
