Nepal vs Bhutan: Nepal will play against host Bhutan in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers starting today in Thimphu, Bhutan.
The match between Nepal and Bhutan in Group A will begin at 5:45 pm at Changlimithang Stadium. Both teams aim for a strong start.
Recently, Nepal beat Bhutan twice easily in the SAFF U-20 Championship held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, boosting Nepal’s confidence. However, Bhutan will have the advantage of home ground and local support.
Nepal’s head coach Yam Prasad Gurung said the SAFF U-20 and AFC U-20 qualifiers are different competitions. He also warned not to underestimate Bhutan as a weak team.
“In SAFF, Nepal won comfortably, but this is a different tournament. Bhutan is playing at home and improving every day. We respect Bhutan and will play seriously,” Gurung said.
In the SAFF U-20 Championship, Nepal defeated Bhutan 6-1 and 8-0. Gurung also said Nepal will respect all three teams in the group.
Bhutan’s coach Tanka Maya Ghale said they are ready for the qualifiers. “We are prepared, and all players are positive. We gained valuable experience from the recent SAFF U-20 games and will fix our mistakes to get better results this time,” she said.
