A four-member Nepal swimming team, including two male athletes, will travel to Otopeni, Romania, on Friday to take part in the World Aquatic Junior Championship. The competition will be held from August 15 to 21.
Nepal will be represented by Ervin Shrestha and Prarambha Bhandari. Ervin will compete in the 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter breaststroke, while Prarambha will swim in the 50-meter and 100-meter backstroke events. Prarambha also holds the national record in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke.
Team officials Rabin Shrestha and Gita Siwakoti will accompany the athletes. Tanka Lal Ghising, member-secretary of the National Sports Council, bid farewell to the team at a ceremony on Thursday and wished them success.
