Factory fire in western Russia kills 11, injures 130

A fire at an industrial plant in Ryazan, western Russia, has killed 11 people and injured around 130, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on Saturday.

The ministry said on its official Telegram channel that two more bodies were found during debris clearance, raising the death toll to 11.

Earlier, a rescue dog team had helped locate trapped people inside the rubble.

More than 360 emergency workers and over 90 pieces of equipment have been deployed for rescue operations. The fire started at 10:30 am local time in the production workshop of the factory located in Lesnoy, Shilovsky district.

Local investigators have launched a serious investigation into possible violations of industrial safety rules.
