Rabi Lamichhane being brought from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu

Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is being brought from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu.

He will travel by Buddha Air flight and will be taken to Nakkhu Prison via Tribhuvan International Airport. Many of his supporters and RSP leaders are currently present at the airport, and tight security has been arranged.

Supporters have also started gathering at Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur. Lamichhane has been in Rupandehi Prison since Chaitra 25 (April 8) for investigation in the Supreme Cooperative scam case in Butwal.

According to the Prison Management Department’s decision, he is being transferred to Nakkhu today. He had requested a transfer to Nakkhu Prison in Jestha (May-June).

Supporters gathered outside Bhairahawa Prison as the transfer process began. Lamichhane had filed the transfer request at Rupandehi District Court on Jestha 14 (May 28), and the court approved it on Jestha 16 (May 30).
