Police in Rautahat have asked the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to help find those involved in the murder of 26-year-old Rubi Kumari Sah from Madhopur, Madhav Narayan Municipality-6. The crime, which took place on Saturday night, still remains unsolved.

According to police, Rubi was last seen on Saturday evening when she left her rented room in Gaur, saying she was going to the market. Later that night, her body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase near Mudbalwa Gate in Gaur Municipality-9. She had last called her mother around 6 pm but never returned.

Rubi’s husband, Shiv sagar Sah, has arrived from India and is being questioned by police. Her mobile phone has not been found.

The District Police Office in Gaur said the investigation is being carried out from different angles, with CIB expected to join the case. Madhesh Province Police Chief Uma Chaturvedi said the incident is mysterious and CIB will assist in uncovering the truth.

Police have started collecting CCTV footage from the area. Rubi had been living in Gaur since the COVID-19 pandemic so her son could continue his studies.
