All social media platforms are still working inside Singha Durbar.

Employees and lawmakers said that connecting to the internal Wi-Fi network there gives access to Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and other platforms, and this has been the case for a long time.

On Monday, the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives was meeting. During the meeting, protests grew outside the parliament building in New Baneshwor against the social media ban. Because of the protest, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak left the meeting, and the session was later postponed.

After the meeting, one lawmaker said, “If social media works inside Singha Durbar but not for the public, of course citizens will be more angry.”
