Nepal is celebrating Constitution Day and National Day 2082 with various programs, just like in previous years. The main ceremony is being held today at 8:30 am at Tundikhel Army Pavilion, with President Ram Chandra Paudel as the chief guest.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki will deliver a speech at the program. However, due to the current political situation, parades and other displays have been cancelled this year.
Nepal’s Constitution was announced on Asoj 3, 2072, as the result of the Nepali people’s long struggle and sacrifices. After the election of the second Constituent Assembly, the Constitution was passed following long debates and hard work.
On the night of Asoj 3, 2072 (19 September, 2015), then-President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav officially declared the new Constitution from the International Convention Centre in New Baneshwor.
