Dengue cases in Nepal have reached close to 5,000. According to Dr. Gokarna Prasad Dahal, head of the Vector-borne Disease Section at the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, 4,814 people have been infected so far.
The disease has been found in almost all districts except Dolpa, Humla, and Manang. Two people have already died from the infection. Dr. Dahal said that the risk of dengue will gradually decrease as rainfall stops and colder weather begins.
