Floods have washed away three bridges along the Mechi Corridor.
The affected bridges are the Belase bridge over the Mai Khola, the Puwakhola bridge, and the Jogmai bridge on the Kechana–Kanchanjunga road section.
In Ilam Municipality–11, Belase, the concrete bridge over the Mai Khola, built only about five years ago, has been badly damaged, cutting off transportation in the area.
The Mechi Highway has also been blocked due to multiple landslides. More than 30 landslides have occurred in different parts of Ilam and Panchthar, completely halting traffic movement.
