The Kaski District Police Office has taken action against some InDrive drivers for charging passengers more than the standard fare.
Based on complaints from passengers, a police team was sent out and caught eight vehicles from different locations. After taking them into custody, the police fined them and then released them, according to police spokesperson Hari Bahadur Basnet.
The incident happened around 8 PM on Sunday after complaints were received that InDrive riders were overcharging. The drivers were punished under the Transport Management Act, 2049.
Meanwhile, the Gandaki Province government has introduced new rules to allow ride-sharing and self-drive services like InDrive and Pathao. However, traditional transport operators are protesting against these rules.
