Argentina beat Venezuela 3-0 in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday morning, thanks to two goals from star striker Lionel Messi.
Playing at home, Argentina secured the win with Messi scoring twice and Lautaro Martínez adding another goal.
Messi gave Argentina the lead in the 39th minute. In the second half, Lautaro scored in the 76th minute before Messi sealed the victory with his second goal in the 80th minute.
Argentina is already at the top of the qualification table and has secured its place in the World Cup. This was Argentina’s last home game in the qualifiers, and it is also seen as Messi’s final home match for the national team.
