Spanish football club FC Barcelona has signed a new contract with their young talent Lamine Yamal, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2031.
In a statement, the club said: “FC Barcelona and Lamine Yamal have reached an agreement for a new contract that will keep the player at the club until June 30, 2031.”
The 17-year-old signed the new deal in the presence of club president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafa Yuste, and sporting director Deco.
Lamine Yamal made his debut for Barcelona on April 29, 2023, at the age of just 15. Since then, he has quickly become one of the best young footballers in the world.
He also plays for the Spanish national team and played an important role in helping Spain win the Euro 2024 title. This season, he helped Barcelona win three trophies.
With this new contract, Lamine is expected to become one of the highest-paid players at the club, earning around 15 million euros per year.
The contract also includes a massive release clause of 1 billion euros.
