Rajendra Rai, the main suspect in the killing of four family members in Bhojpur, has been referred to Dharan for further treatment by the District Hospital.
Police had taken him to Bhojpur District Hospital after finding him in a bloody condition with what appeared to be three wounds in his stomach. “After initial treatment in Bhojpur, he is being referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for further care,” said a Bhojpur police official.
On Saturday night, four bodies were found in Dhodlekhani, Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality-2, Bhojpur. The victims were 68-year-old Bel Bahadur Giri, his wife Manju Giri, their 16-year-old daughter, and 10-year-old son. The accused, Rajendra Rai, is the son-in-law of the elderly couple.
According to Bhojpur District Police Inspector Deepak Shrestha, Rai himself called the police control room around 1:15 a.m. to report the incident.
After his call, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar Khawas from the temporary police post in Okhre and a team from the district office were dispatched to search for him.
Police found Rajendra Rai injured in a place called Harbu Bhanyjang, about 4–5 kilometers away from the crime scene.
