Biratnagar accident: Scooter rider killed, crowd sets tipper on fire
A man died in Biratnagar after a tipper hit a scooter. Soon after the accident, an angry crowd set the tipper on fire.
The accident happened on Monday evening at Tinpaini, Biratnagar-2. A tipper with number plate Province 1-02-001 Ka 4514, going from west to east, hit a scooter (Ko 27 Pa 8534) from behind.
The scooter rider, 76-year-old Sudish Narayan Jha from Jamkoti, Katahari-1, Morang, died on the spot, according to Morang District Traffic Police Office.
After the accident, the crowd set the tipper on fire. Police have taken the driver, 31-year-old Sajan Chaudhary from Gramthan-7, Morang, into custody.
