A 10-year-old boy from Butwal, Dipson Rana, was found dead on Monday after drowning in the Tinau River while swimming.
According to the District Police Office, Rupandehi, Dipson, who lived in Butwal-11 Pragatinar, had gone swimming in the river with his friends. He drowned, as confirmed by DSP and spokesperson Suraj Karki from the police office. Dipson did not return home by evening, so his parents began searching for him and reported it to the Devenagar temporary police post in Butwal at 8 PM on Monday.
A search team, including the police and locals, found his body near the riverbank that same night.
In a separate incident on Monday, three children also drowned while swimming in the Danav River in Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality-2, Ardauli, Rupandehi.
