One Dead, Three Injured in Dharan-Itahari Car Crash

A car accident in the Char Koshe jungle area between Dharan and Itahari has left one person dead and three others injured. The accident happened on Saturday night when a car with the number plate Bagmati Province 01–030 Cha 4618, traveling from Dharan to Itahari, went out of control and crashed, according to District Police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent Yograj Khatiwada.

He said that there were four people in the car, including the driver. One of them, 40-year-old Bishnu Raut from Itahari-1, was seriously injured and died while being treated at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

According to the police, the injured include the driver, 30-year-old Bibek Lama from Ramdhuni Municipality-7 in Sunsari, 43-year-old Ganga Basnet from Itahari-4, and 31-year-old Kalyan Katuwal from Itahari-1. The driver and Basnet have only minor injuries, but Kalyan Katuwal has been referred to Birat Medical College in Biratnagar for further treatment.
