Shocking Animal Cruelty: Dog Hanged and Killed in Rolpa

A disturbing video is going viral on social media, showing a cruel act that’s hard to watch. In the video, a dog is seen hanging from a tree and struggling in pain before dying. The dog, a local black breed, was tortured and killed in a very inhumane way.

Three people are seen in the video. One is up in the tree, another is filming the video, and the dog is shown trying desperately to escape after being tied around the neck with a rope. Shockingly, the young men are seen laughing and enjoying the dog’s suffering.

It is clear that they killed the innocent animal just for fun.

A TikTok account named Sundar Pariyar uploaded the video two days ago. Locals say the dog had done nothing wrong and was killed without reason. The incident took place in Harjang village, Ward No. 7 of Lungri Rural Municipality in Rolpa District, on Baisakh 7 (around April 20).

Police are now searching for the people involved. Rohit Kumar Shahi, the spokesperson of Rolpa District Police Office, said, “We’ve already informed the Sulichaur police office to arrest the youths. We have identified them and will take immediate action.”

So far, police have arrested Jaljala Pun (11 years old) and Dambar Pun (17 years old). Another person, Sundar Pariyar (20 years old), is still being searched for, according to Inspector Arun Tamang of Sulichaur Police Office.

Preliminary investigation suggests the dog was thrown into a river after being killed. Police are planning to visit the site today to investigate further.

According to the Criminal Code of Nepal 2075, it is illegal to torture or cruelly kill animals. Anyone who does so can face up to 3 months in jail and a fine of up to Rs. 5,000. Inspector Tamang says the three involved in this incident will face the same punishment.
