Two workers died after falling from the fourth floor while installing a lift at a building under construction in Durbar Marg, Kathmandu.
According to Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Apil Raj Bohora, the deceased have been identified as around 30-year-old Pradeshi Chaudhary from Kailali and around 20-year-old Bishal Chaudhary from Bardiya.
The incident occurred around 5 PM on Monday near Hitipokhari in Durbar Marg, where Potala Development Pvt. Ltd. is constructing a nine-story concrete building.
The two workers had climbed up to apply grease on the lift system, but the iron chain they were using broke, causing them to fall to the ground.
They were seriously injured and rushed to Bir Hospital, where doctors declared them dead shortly after, around 5:15 PM.
