England’s U21 football team has defended their UEFA European Under-21 Championship title with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Germany in extra time.

The match, played in Bratislava, was decided by a header from substitute Jonathan Rowe just two minutes after he came onto the field in the 92nd minute.

England had previously won the title two years ago, ending a 39-year wait for the trophy.

Harvey Elliott gave England an early lead in the 5th minute, and Omari Hutchinson doubled it later in the first half. However, Germany’s Nelson Weiper scored a header during first-half injury time to keep his team in the game.

Germany equalized in the 61st minute through Paul Nebel, making it 2–2.

Rowe’s extra-time goal sealed the victory for England, who are now back-to-back U21 European champions.

With this win, the spotlight now turns to head coach Lee Carsley, as fans wonder whether he will continue with the team.
