Both English clubs had success in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals.
Manchester United beat Athletic Club 3-0, even though Athletic had only 10 players for most of the match.
The match was played at San Memes Stadium. In the 30th minute, Casemiro scored a header for Manchester United.
Then in the 37th minute, Dani Vivian fouled Rasmus Højlund, and United got a penalty. Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty, while Vivian was shown a red card.
Before the first half ended, Fernandes scored again to make it 3-0.
In the other semi-final, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Bodø/Glimt 3-1.
Tottenham took the lead just 38 seconds into the match — Brennan Johnson scored a header from Richarlison’s cross.
James Maddison made it 2-0, and then Dominic Solanke added another goal to give Tottenham a strong lead.
Saltnes scored a goal for Bodø/Glimt in the 83rd minute, but it was not enough.
Tottenham now have a real chance at winning a European title for the first time since 2008.
