A fire broke out in Unapani village of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-3, burning down eight houses, according to the District Police Office, Humla.
The homes of the following people were destroyed in the fire:
- Birkha Rawat (37)
- Batuli Phadera (47)
- Lal Kuwar Phadera (43)
- Pale Phadera (44)
- Asha Phadera (43)
- Birjan Phadera (29)
- Dhan Bahadur Rawat (42)
DSP Shankar Pokhrel said that there has been no loss of human life or livestock so far. Locals and police are working together to control the fire.
Five houses had their doors and windows broken to quickly remove belongings and prevent further damage, said DSP Pokhrel.
More details about the incident are yet to come. A police team led by Sub-Inspector Subin Shah from the Sarkedeu police post has been deployed to help bring the fire under control.
