Fire destroys Rautahat’s first banana resort, causing heavy losses

A fire broke out on Saturday at the district’s first banana-themed resort located in Auraiya, Ward No. 2 of Ishnath Municipality, Rautahat.

The fire completely destroyed all items inside the resort. According to the resort’s operator, Rakesh Gupta, the estimated loss is around Rs 40 lakh.

He said the fire damaged furniture worth Rs 15 lakh, refrigerators, farming tools, food supplies, electronic items, and a house built at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.

Security personnel, locals, Armed Police Force, and a mini fire truck from the municipality helped control the fire. Although an electrical short circuit is suspected as the cause, police said the exact reason is still under investigation.

The resort was popular among visitors for offering dishes made from bananas.
