

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will remain closed for flights until 12 pm on Wednesday. The airport had already been shut from 2:30 pm Tuesday to 1 am Wednesday due to ongoing Gen Z protests.
Buddha Air, the leading domestic airline, issued a notice saying flights will not operate until Wednesday noon. The company apologized to passengers for the inconvenience.
Buddha Air also said that other airlines flying to different domestic destinations could not operate because of the situation in the country. Passengers who bought tickets but could not travel will get a refund.
The Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) said that member airlines remain committed to serving the public, even in difficult times.
In a statement, association president Manoj Karki expressed deep concern over the tragic incident during the Gen Z protests on 8 September, which led to violence. The association offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The association also clarified in another statement that no helicopters currently in operation have been used to provide flight services to politicians, ministers, or other officials.
