Continuous rainfall caused the Jogbudha River to overflow in Kanchanpur, flooding two Armed Police Force (APF) border outposts (BOP) and 52 houses.
According to police, the BOPs at Dodhara Chandani Municipality–7 and 10 were submerged. After the flood, 52 APF personnel and their food, equipment, and supplies were moved to safer places.
In ward 7, police and locals were shifted to the urban vaccination center, while in ward 10, 23 personnel were relocated to Ombar Basic School. Police said they are also involved in rescue operations for those affected by the flood.
Similarly, 25 houses with 70 people from Rampure Tapu (ward 8) were moved to Janjyoti Secondary School, 15 houses with 55 people from Patrakhalle (ward 3) were shifted to Jamuna Basic School, and 12 houses with 40 people from Shanti Tole (ward 10) were taken to Ambika Secondary School.
The Mahakali River water level has remained high, stopping the movement of four-wheeled vehicles. By evening, the flow had slightly decreased to 203,830 cusecs, but vehicles were still not allowed to pass through the Sharada Barrage.
