New International Football Stadium to Be Built in Kathmandu’s Jahar Singh Pauwa

A new football stadium will be built in Jaharsingh Pauwa, Kathmandu, as an alternative to the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar.

According to the Ministry of Urban Development, the stadium will have a seating capacity of 25,000, and a budget of Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the project.

The stadium will be named Ganeshman Singh International Stadium.

Currently, Dasharath Stadium is Nepal’s only international-standard football venue, but it has faced repeated rejections from the AFC due to poor maintenance and safety issues. This has forced Nepal to lose the right to host several home matches.
