Glenn Maxwell Likely Out of IPL 2025 After Finger Injury

Punjab Kings’ explosive batsman Glenn Maxwell has broken his finger and is likely to miss the rest of the IPL 2025 season.

Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer shared the news during the toss. Marcus Stoinis also confirmed the injury, saying, “Unfortunately, Maxi has broken his finger. It happened during practice. He had a scan, but the results weren’t good. So, it looks like he’s almost out of the tournament.”

Maxwell had a disappointing season. In seven matches, he batted six times and scored only 49 runs at a poor average of 8.

His highest score this season was 30 runs. He managed to hit only five fours and one six and was dismissed for zero once. Punjab even dropped him from the playing XI in two matches.

Punjab had bought Maxwell for ₹4.2 crore in the mega auction held in Jeddah last November.
