Google has officially launched its highly anticipated 10th-generation Pixel phones, introducing a full lineup that includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the groundbreaking Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This new series is not just an iterative update; it’s a showcase of Google’s new direction, with a heavy emphasis on on-device artificial intelligence and significant hardware enhancements.
The most notable change is the camera system. The base Pixel 10 now features a triple-camera setup for the first time, a feature previously reserved for the Pro models. This includes a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10-megapixel 5x telephoto lens. The Pro models push the envelope even further, with upgraded sensors that enable an impressive 100x zoom.
Another exciting addition is “Pixel Snap,” Google’s branding for wireless charging with built-in magnets. This feature, which uses the CH2 standard, allows for 15-watt wireless charging and is also compatible with popular accessories like Apple’s MagSafe.
Under the hood, all new Pixel devices are powered by the Tensor G5 chip. This 3nm processor is not focused on raw speed but on supercharging the phones’ AI capabilities. This focus is apparent in the new software features:
The new foldable phone, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, stands out with a more compact gearless hinge. Most impressively, it is the first foldable with an IP68 rating, making it highly resistant to both dust and water. The device also features a larger 5,000 mAh battery and includes the new Pixel Snap technology.
The new Pixel lineup solidifies Google’s vision of a seamless hardware-software ecosystem, with these new devices setting a new standard for AI integration in smartphones.
