Dharche Rural Municipality in Gorkha district has given cash incentives to farmers to boost agricultural production. In the last fiscal year 2081/82, the municipality distributed Rs 467,500 based on production.
Anil Nepali, chief of the agriculture section, said the grants were given both to individual farmers and groups.
Farmers received the incentives for growing cash crops and fruits, and raising livestock. Crops grown by beneficiaries included Akabare (chilly), dragon fruit, potato, orange, and banana. Beekeepers also received support.
