A husband and wife died from an electric shock in Saptari district.
The victims are 50-year-old Badri Sardar and his 45-year-old wife, Bimala Devi Sardar, residents of Kanchanrup Municipality–5, Pipra.
According to DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle of the Kanchanrup Police, the couple received the shock around 8 am on Saturday while returning home from their field. They were touching a wire set up by local resident Mahendra Sardar to protect the paddy crop from wild animals when the accident occurred. Both died at the scene.
The police have said that further investigation is underway.
