The man who was killed at the Madhuganga Mahadev Temple in Dudhauli Municipality–2, Sindhuli, has been identified.
According to the District Police Office, the deceased was Pankaj Kumar Bhagat from Bhabdepur–11, Sitamarhi, India. His brother, Ranjit Bhagat, identified the body at Sindhuli Hospital, informed District Police Chief Laldhwaj Subedi.
Pankaj had come to the temple for a religious visit with a group of Indian pilgrims. A dispute broke out among them on Monday, during which he was attacked with sharp weapons and killed.
Police recovered a knife and sickle from the incident site at Lamidanda, near the temple. Preliminary investigations suggest that the attackers could also be Indian nationals. A search is underway to find those involved.
