Yash Dayal, a fast bowler for the Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has been accused of raping a minor. According to media, a complaint was filed against him at Jaipur’s Sanganer police station. The complainant alleges that Dayal emotionally blackmailed and raped a young girl for two years.
The report states that Dayal lured the victim to a hotel in Sitapur, promising to help her build a cricket career, where the first incident of sexual assault took place. The victim was only 17 at the time, so the case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
This is not the first time Dayal has faced such accusations. He was previously involved in another sexual assault case, but the Allahabad High Court recently stayed his arrest. Justices Siddharth Varma and Anil Kumar heard his plea and ordered the government lawyer and complainant to respond.
The first complaint against the 27-year-old was filed on July 6 at Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under Section 69 of the Indian Penal Code (for deceitful sexual relations or false promise of marriage). The complainant, a woman, said she met Dayal about five years ago, and he promised to marry her. However, he kept delaying the marriage, and she later discovered he was involved with another woman, prompting her to file the complaint.
