An Indian pilgrim was killed with a sharp weapon during a dispute among his group in Sindhuli.

The incident took place on Monday at the Madhuganga Mahadev temple area in Dudhauli Municipality-2, where a group of Indian pilgrims had come for religious worship. According to police, a dispute broke out among them, which led to the fatal attack.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Pankaj Kumar Bhagat from Bhupdeopur Ward No. 11, Sitamarhi, India. His identity was confirmed by his elder brother, Ranjit Bhagat, said Sindhuli Police Chief SP Lal Dhwaj Subedi.

Police recovered a sickle and a sharp weapon (chuppi) from the scene in Lamidada near the temple. Initial investigation suggests that the attackers might also be Indian nationals. A search is underway to find those involved.

Meanwhile, another man, aged around 50 to 55, who had also come for the temple visit, was found dead in the same area. His identity is still unknown.
