With a brilliant performance from Lionel Messi, Inter Miami secured a historic 2–1 win over European club Porto in the FIFA Club World Cup.
In the Group A match held last night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Inter Miami came from behind to win after trailing 1–0.
Porto took the lead early in the first half. In the 8th minute, Samu Ogehouva scored a penalty to put Porto ahead 1–0.
But early in the second half, Inter Miami equalized. In the 47th minute, Telasco Segovia scored to make it 1–1.
Then, in the 54th minute, Messi scored a stunning free-kick goal. His powerful left-footed shot beat Porto’s goalkeeper, giving Inter Miami a 2–1 lead.
