Inter Milan earned a hard-fought comeback win in the FIFA Club World Cup. In the Group E match played last night, Inter defeated Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 2–1.
Urawa took the lead early in the 11th minute when Ryoma Watanabe scored from a pass by Takuro Kaneko. After that, Inter had to wait until late in the second half to find the equalizer.
In the 78th minute, Inter captain Lautaro Martínez scored a brilliant volley from a corner by Nicolò Barella to make it 1–1. Then, in dramatic fashion, Valentín Carboni scored the winning goal in the 90+2 minute from a rebound by Francesco Esposito.
With this win, Inter now have 4 points in Group E. Urawa are at the bottom of the table with 0 points.
