Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced that flight operations across the country have resumed from Thursday morning.
On Wednesday, Iran had declared the closure of its airspace for all flights except a limited number that had received prior approval from the aviation authorities. The decision was taken amid concerns that U.S. President Donald Trump could order an attack.
Protests have been ongoing across Iran for the past several days. President Trump has repeatedly warned Iranian authorities against suppressing the protests, stating that the United States would intervene if a crackdown occurs.
Thursday marks the 19th consecutive day of protests in the country. Due to the shutdown of internet and telephone services for more than a week, it has been difficult to confirm the exact number of people killed or injured during the unrest.
