Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report “false.”

The IPC report stated that Gaza City and surrounding areas are facing famine, describing the situation as extremely severe.

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu said, “Israel’s policy is not to create hunger. Our policy is to prevent hunger.”

He added that since October 2023, Israel has allowed 2 million aid packages into Gaza, with each person receiving more than one ton of supplies.

Netanyahu also claimed that food and drink prices in Gaza have dropped because of Israel’s increased aid, but the IPC report did not mention this.

The statement further said, “Like previous IPC reports, this report ignores Israel’s humanitarian efforts and the theft of aid by Hamas.”

Netanyahu accused Hamas of stealing relief supplies to buy weapons for war.
