Defending champions Janakpur Bolts have announced the list of retained players for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 season.
On Thursday, Janakpur confirmed that they have retained 7 players, including their marquee player Aasif Sheikh. The other players are last season’s captain Anil Sah, Shubh Kansakar, Kishore Mahato, Lalit Rajbanshi, Tul Bahadur Thapa Magar, and Rupesh Singh.
Last season, Rupesh Singh couldn’t play due to injury, so Mayan Yadav was brought in as his replacement. Rupesh has already made his T20I debut for the senior Nepal national team.
Janakpur Bolts won the last NPL season by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in the final and are entering the new season as the reigning champions.
So far, other teams like Chitwan Rhinos, Sudurpaschim Royals, Pokhara Avengers, Kathmandu Gorkhas, Lumbini Lions, and Karnali Yaks have also published their retention lists.
As per the NPL rules, teams can retain up to 6 players besides their marquee player. A mini auction for the next season is scheduled to take place in August.
