In Sunday’s matches of the Martyr’s Memorial B Division League, Jhapa Football Club and Madhyapur Youth Association won their respective games.
At the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Jhapa defeated Tusal Youth Club 2-0.
Both goals for Jhapa were scored by Pradeep Budhathoki. The first half ended 0-0, but Pradeep gave Jhapa the lead in the 59th minute. He scored his second goal in the 7th minute of injury time to seal the win.
With this victory, Jhapa now has 18 points from 12 matches and has moved up to 4th place. Tusal, with 11 points from 12 games, is in 13th place and still in the relegation zone. Tusal has only one game left, and this loss has made their chances of avoiding relegation more difficult.
In another match at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Madhyapur defeated Bansbari Youth Club 1-0.
Sahil KC scored the winning goal for Madhyapur in the 65th minute.
After this win, Madhyapur now has 15 points from 12 matches and has climbed to 8th place, securing their place in the B Division for next season. Since Tusal lost to Jhapa, Madhyapur is now safe from relegation.
Bansbari also has 15 points from 12 games and is currently in 9th place.
