KATHMANDU, AUGUST 16,: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started canceling licenses of institutional schools that are registered but not currently operating.
The local government said the move follows monitoring and evaluation of schools across the city.
Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol said some alternative schools, including Mahila Jyoti and James Namuna, have received permission to move to new locations.
In addition, 25 schools are in the process of changing their names under the local government’s decision.
